Autumn, Weekend in La Rioja

Blog 0 comments

Fall is coming and we are all hoping to organize our dream weekend plan. La Rioja is perhaps one of the most complete plans when it comes to scheduling a weekend of these characteristics.

It is a place full of activities, culture and of course gastronomy in the area. When we talk about gastronomy, we will always take into account wine, the link between tourism and Riojan gastronomy.

CULTURE, NATURAL ENVIRONMENT AND GASTRONOMY

To fully enjoy our autumn plan, we will divide La Rioja into three categories, Culture, visiting Logroño architectural heritage, Mountain, visiting part of the Sierra de la Demand and Ezcaray, an incomparable natural environment, endowed with a unique ski resort in Spain. Finally, Gastronomy, in this category we will visit a winery and enjoy the most characteristic local dishes for many of the best in Spain for the quality of their products and their tradition.

In Logroño, if we go for a weekend, we must go for tapas in the center, Laurel street, in general the historic center that will delight our palate and give us the opportunity to taste several of the area’s wines. On a more cultural level, we can visit the Co-Cathedral of Santa María and walk along the banks of the Ebro river, admiring the architecture of the old town as a landscape.

 Laurel Street, Logroño

If we have been able to visit Logroño and its surroundings on Friday, Saturday is the day to get to know the Sierra de la Demanda Riojana, its historical complex and its exuberant nature makes this area stand out for its beauty. In particular Ezcaray, which is located on the north face of the Iberian system. Its tourist activity is focused on rural tourism, winter sports and gastronomy. Areas that combine the Valdezcaray ski resort.

We couldn’t finish our weekend without visiting many of the most beautiful towns in La Rioja. They are all charming but we must visit Haro and Santo Domingo de la Calzada, along with Calahorra.

In all these towns we can enjoy the most beautiful and well-known wineries in Spain, such as those found in Haro. In Santo Domingo de la Calzada, the cathedral, the old pilgrim hospital, the walls or the Plaza de España stand out.

La Rioja is a landscape of overwhelming beauty, so in a weekend it may not be possible to know many of its charming towns. But that is good news, because you will return to be able to enjoy every corner of La Rioja and its wonderful towns. An endless resource for our weekend plans.

In short, come to La Rioja in Autumn.
